Enhancement of the electronic contribution to the low - temperature specific heat of an Fe Õ Cr magnetic multilayer

چکیده
We measured the low-temperature specific heat of a sputtered (Fe23Å /Cr12Å)33 magnetic multilayer, as well as separate 1000 Å thick Fe and Cr films. Magnetoresistance and magnetization measurements on the multilayer demonstrated antiparallel coupling between the Fe layers. Using microcalorimeters made in our group, we measured the specific heat for 4,T,30 K and in magnetic fields up to 8 T for the multilayer. The low-temperature electronic specific heat coefficient of the multilayer in the temperature range 4,T,14 K is gML58.4 mJ/K 2 mol. This is significantly larger than that measured for the Fe or Cr films ~5.4 and 3.5 mJ/K mol, respectively!. No magnetic field dependence of gML was observed up to 8 T. These results can be explained by a softening of the phonon modes observed in the same data and the presence of an Fe-Cr alloy phase at the interfaces. 75.70 ~magnetic multilayer! and 75.40 ~specific heat of magnetic materials!.

The specific heat of Cd Mn Se (x = 0.01) and Cd , Mn S (x = 0.026) in the temperature range of 0.3 - 40K was measured. The measurements were carried out in different applied magnetic fields (H = 0,10,20, 28KG). The results were analyzed with a model which includes long range interactions. Calculations based on on extended version of nearest neighbor pair approximation (including triplets)...
متن کاملCooling Enhancement of a Photovoltaic Panel Through Ferrofluid Stimulation Using a Magnetic-Wind Turbine
Wind energy is used to rotate a magnetic turbine in order to remove heat from the surface of a photovoltaic (PV) panel. A three-bladed turbine, which rotates with wind energy, has rotational motion underneath the studied PV panel in order to move Magnetic Nano-Particles (MNPs). In addition, effects of the magnetic field strength (B=450-830 mT), rotational velocity of the magnetic turbine (ω), a...
